Needlelace Edgings - Turkish Oya - SILK
Another disappearing art ... The polyester threads took over and silk is no more used for this very unique needlelace. These are edgings sewed on one of the longer sides of the oblong muslin or silk prayer scarfs. All are a little over 47" except for the first one which is 45" ... Prices include handling & "registered" shipping ... To give you an idea, below are the closest DMC codes for their colours :

70 cm / 27.5" square scarves/kerchiefs in very good condition considering their age, some minor chest stains and slight drawn threads or small tears. Depending on the condition prices vary between USD 59.99 & USD 69.99 ... You are buying antique hand-woven silk with hand-made silk needle lace edgings. Five of them are folded and sewn into a triangle probably to ease storage. I have not opened them and do not intend to. Hand-woven Cotton Fabrics
These natural cotton fabrics are hand-woven with 18th Century Anatolian wooden looms (Aegean region), thus imperfections are possible. A tradition almost completely lost. Aegean cotton is the second best quality in the world after Egypt. The structure is slightly heavier than muslin and perfect for shawl-scarves adorned with embroidered or bead/lace crocheted edgings. Limited but also suitable for drawn thread clusters.
Pre-washed - Hand wash in cold water with preferably natural soap or dry cleaning. I shall also be listing silk fabric from the same looms in future. From a smoke-free home with two cat masters. Carnations
These are custom made hand crochet bead edgings with pure two strand silk floss. Each carnation has 86 rocailles seed beads. These will specially be made for you, with the colours you choose. Silk floss is a standard natural ecru colour. I have loads of bead colour variations, so feel free to use your imagination for the two choices. I have used them as the edgings for the cotton fabric presented above as a lovely shawl-scarf. Space between every carnation is about three centimetres ( a little over an inch ). You will understand that once your order is taken, they will not instantly be ready to be shipped but a maximum of one week is foreseen for the preparation. The estimated one week preparation period is for 30 carnations. 17 of them adds to about 42 cm ( 16.5" ).
The price for each carnation is USD 1.99 and the final product will be neatly coiled around a card board. Please send me a note to pelintezer at gmail dot com for your orders and invoice. Pink for a Darling Girl
A simple yet very beautiful crochet bead edging for a newborn or anything else within your imagination. Made with DMC 4170 and Gütermann rocailles 9/0 beads ( colours 4965 & 1016 ). Length is 112 cm ( about 44" ). This is a "buy now" price including international shipping & handling but will also be custom made upon request. Just name the colours and length.
